Note that due to caching issues with Apple’s regional node server configurations, there may be a slight delay in detecting the update in some locations, generally within half an hour, but not for long.

After installing the descriptor file, you can download watchOS 9.5 by going to General > Software Update from the dedicated Apple Watch app on your iPhone. To update to the new software, the Apple Watch needs to have a 50% battery charge and must be placed on a charger and within the communication range of the iPhone it is paired with.

Note: watchOS 9.5 introduces new features, improvements and bug fixes, including a new “Rainbow Celebration” dial that pays homage to the LGBTQ+ community and culture.

watchOS 9.5 adds a simplified Beta installation method first introduced in iOS 16.4. With this update, developers and public beta testers participating in Apple’s respective programs can open Beta updates from the “Software Update” section of the Watch app on iPhone. An Apple ID associated with a public beta account or developer account is required to open the beta update.

The new Pride Celebration dial and iOS wallpaper pay tribute to the collective strength and support of the LGBTQ+ community. Colourful graphics integrate the band with the display and respond when users lift and move their wrists or tap the display. The accompanying wallpaper is also a vivid interpretation of this year’s Rainbow Edition design, which dynamically changes when the user unlocks the iPhone.
