Apple Watch Edition high-end model sold out before Series 8 release

Just weeks before the Apple Watch Series 8 lineup was announced, the Apple Watch Edition model, the highest-priced custom material model, began selling out. Several high-end Apple Watch Series 7 models with titanium cases are listed as “currently unavailable” in the Apple Online Store in the U.S., Canada, the U.K. and several other countries. In the U.S., availability of the 41mm model is currently most scarce, but some 45mm models are also out of stock.

The Apple Watch Series 8 is expected to be released in September, along with the iPhone 14. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, in addition to the two standard Series 8 models, Apple also plans to launch a “rugged” model with a larger display and a more durable design for hiking and extreme sports. While the rugged watch will reportedly feature a titanium case, it’s unclear if it will be sold as an Apple Watch Edition at a higher price.

The rumored health features of the Apple Watch 8 series add the ability to detect whether your body temperature is normal, as well as an “S8” chip with the same specifications as the S7 processor in the Series 7.
