In recent months, there has been more and more new news about Apple VR, and now there is another piece of evidence that proves it is one step closer to consumers. Today, Apple’s patent application for “IMU-based gloves” was granted to Apple with the patent number CN109582125B.

According to the patent abstract, the patent relates to VR gloves capable of measuring the movement of a single finger bone and thumb bone. The VR glove may include a plurality of inertial measurement units (IMUs) to track said movement of one or more finger segments or hand segments.

The IMU may contain one or more motion sensors such as gyroscopes, accelerometers, etc. that may be positioned adjacent to the finger (or thumb) bones and may measure the inertial motion of said corresponding bones.

In short, this VR glove can be realized through the sensor for the user finger movement of accurate monitoring, so as to bring more users to bring more accurate VR operating experience.

From the existing news, Apple is likely to launch the first headset next year, which includes two 4K micro OLED display, 15 optical modules, two main processors, Wi-Fi 6E connection, eye tracking, object tracking and gesture control.
