Apple today released the latest Apple Silicon chip M2 Ultra, as well as the new Mac Studio and Mac Pro equipped with the chip, in its keynote speech at WWDC 2023.

Based on the M2 Max chip found in the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros released earlier this year, the M2 Ultra is the most powerful Apple Silicon chip yet. Compared to the M1 Ultra, the M2 Ultra has a 20% increase in CPU performance and a 30% increase in GPU performance.

The M2 Max had a 12-core CPU and 30-core GPU with support for up to 96GB of memory, but the M2 Ultra doubles all those specs, with the new chip featuring a 24-core CPU, 60-core GPU, and up to 192GB of memory, the higher-end version of the M2 Ultra There are 76-core GPUs.

It is noticed that the M2 Ultra is six times faster than the fastest Intel-based iMac, and a Mac equipped with the M2 Ultra can play 22 channels of 8K ProRes video simultaneously. Apple says it’s the most powerful chip ever designed for a personal computer.
