Apple Tests Scrolling Lyrics for Apple Music Web Edition

0

Apple today updated its beta.music.apple.com website for Apple Music to introduce the ability to view lyrics on the web.

Users listening to Apple Music content through their browser on this beta site now have the option to view lyrics by clicking on a dialogue bubble in the upper right corner of the screen.

As you can see in the image, the lyrics screen is designed to mimic the lyrics of the Apple Music app on iPhone, iPad and Mac, with lyrics scrolling along with the music at all times on the right side of the screen. The feature is currently only available on the beta web player, but after full testing, Apple may extend it to the music.apple.com website in the future.

Apple launched a web-based Apple Music player in 2019, and the site offers the same content as the iOS and Mac versions. The site allows Apple Music subscribers to listen to music on any device, and anyone can view the web player and listen to song clips, but full access requires a paid Apple Music subscription tied to an Apple ID.
