Apple today announced the latest iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 statistics. According to the existing news, Apple will announce iOS 17 at WWDC, so this should be the last data public before WWDC 23.

Apple says that 81% of active iPhones are currently running iOS 16, up from 72% in February. The data shows that 13% of active iPhones are still running iOS 15, and 6 percent are running older versions of iOS.

Apple also said that 71% of active iPads are now running iPadOS 16, up from 50% in February.

Around this time last year, 82% of Apple’s active iPhones were running iOS 15, so this figure is essentially the same as this time last year. It’s worth noting that iOS 16 adoption may be on the decline after Apple introduced the $99 per year iOS 17 Developer Program.
