Apple today released iOS/iPadOS 16.5 Beta 1 along with the tvOS 16.5 Beta 1 (internal version number 20L5527d) update for Apple TV models. This update is just one day removed from the official release of tvOS 16.4.
tvOS updates are typically small and focus on internal bug fixes and improvements. The update is available for Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD, and registered developers can update to the new version by downloading the appropriate profile using Xcode.
It’s unclear what new features tvOS 16.5 Beta 1 brings, and the tvOS 16.4 update introduces “Dim the Flash,” an accessibility feature that automatically reduces the brightness of the display when it detects a flash or strobe effect in video.
