Apple releases Figma Design Suite, covering all resources for iOS 17 and iPadOS 17

Apple has a surprise for designers at this week’s Worldwide Developers Conference. Apple has officially joined the Figma community and released its own design suite with resources for iOS 17 and iPadOS 17. Figma is a popular online design platform that lets designers easily create, collaborate, and share a variety of interfaces and graphics.

Apple’s Figma Design Suite covers a variety of components for iOS 17 and iPadOS 17, from warning boxes to widgets. Designers can use these resources to quickly create Apple-inspired app interfaces and notification templates. The Design Suite also offers a full range of dynamic type charts, system colors, materials, text styles, and hair-glass effects.

Apple says this is just the beginning, with libraries for macOS Sonoma, watchOS 10, tvOS 17 and visionOS to be added in the coming weeks and months. This is an invaluable tool for designers who create for Apple’s platforms. They no longer need to recreate their own materials, but can directly use the official Apple design kit.

Figma has also recently demonstrated its focus on the iPad with the release of FigJam software for iPadOS, allowing designers to sketch and whiteboard on the iPad. figma is also working on a more powerful iPad app to meet more of designers’ needs.

Later this month, Figma will also host its annual Config Conference in San Francisco. This is a two-day event that will take place June 21-22, and also offers a free virtual way to participate.
