According to foreign technology media AppleInsider reports, Mac users feedback after upgrading to macOS Ventura system, local other Mac / Windows / iPhone devices will not be able to access its shared content. It’s unclear how many users are affected.

Both enterprise and individual users have feedback on network connectivity issues, most of which are SMB connection failures, but the reports are too numerous and too mixed to determine exactly what causes them at this time.

Individual Mac users could theoretically connect to a network or other machine directly from the Finder’s Go menu using the “Connect to Server” option.

Feedback from user tresinnoctem.

"I use SMB to create file shares and then access the files stored on my MacBook Pro from my iPhone 12 over my local network. This feature has always been robust, reliable, and fast in the past.

But after I upgraded my MacBook Pro to Ventura 13.0 and updated my iPhone to iOS 16.1, I can no longer continue to access my MacBook Pro from my phone and my old iMac running Monterey 12.6.

Instead, the iPhone continues to access File Sharing on the old iMac. settings on the MacBook Pro show that File Sharing is enabled, but apparently not working."
In addition to individuals, reports indicate that enterprise users are also experiencing some issues with upgrading to macOS Ventura. Specifically, the best solution seen so far is for users to first turn off file sharing, then restart the Mac, and then turn file sharing back on.
