Apple has launched the first Beta update of macOS Ventura 13.3 (internal version number: 22E5219e), and according to several media reports and user feedback, the Beta version has fixed the “Background Items Added ” issue.

The issue earlier this month: macOS would alert users to notifications of various background running apps every time they started their Mac, even though they had disabled the relevant processes.

After disabling the notification preview feature via the System Settings -> Notifications -> Show Preview path, users continue to receive a large number of “Login Items” notifications after booting their Mac.

A direct reinstall of macOS Ventura 13.2 does not have this problem. However, users who have upgraded from macOS Ventura 13.1 will still have this problem. Apple has not officially mentioned this in the changelog, but according to a report by Ghack, several users have reported that macOS Ventura 13.3 Beta has fixed this bug.

Apple has also fixed an issue in Storekit that caused iOS apps on the Mac to fail when restoring app content and purchasing in-app purchases.

macOS Ventura 13.3 Beta comes with Apple Safari 16.4 Beta, which adds dark mode support for plain text files. The browser can now be used to view AVIF images, a feature that also works with macOS Monterey and macOS Big Sur.
