Apple macOS 12.6 official release

0

Apple today pushed out macOS 12.6 update (internal version number: 21G115) to Mac computer users, 26 days after the last release.

Note that due to server configuration caching issues on Apple’s regional nodes, there may be a slight delay in detecting the update in some places, usually within half an hour, not too long.

While we have to wait for the release of macOS 13 Ventura, Apple today released macOS Monterey 12.6 first. macOS Monterey 12.6 update can be downloaded to all eligible Macs using the Software Update section of System Preferences.

macOS Monterey 12.6 addresses many kernel bugs as well as issues with Maps, iMovie, ATS, MediaLibrary, and PackageKit.

Apple said it is aware of a kernel vulnerability that is being actively exploited, which means all macOS Monterey users need to update to the new version of the operating system as soon as possible.

Apple has also released macOS Big Sur 11.7 update with security fixes.
