According to Taiwan’s Economic Daily News, Apple lens supplier Largan released its latest financial data today. According to the data, Largan’s January 2023 revenue was NT$3.26 billion (currently about RMB 737 million), down 18 percent sequentially and 13 percent year-over-year, an eight-month low.
Largan said that the pulling power in February further declined due to weak downstream demand.
Taiwan media pointed out that Largan Chairman Lin Enping previously said that due to the deterioration of global economic momentum, market demand has worsened, compared to three months ago, the law said the meeting, cell phone inventory depletion has not become better, almost the global cell phone brand factory are very pessimistic, no optimistic manufacturers seen.
Talking about the progress of the global cell phone market specifications upgrade, Lin Enping pointed out that, in addition to the flagship models continuing to upgrade, the others mostly follow the old specifications. This is also because the sensor inventory is too high, the speed of cell phone upgrades also slowed down, 8P (eight plastic lenses) models increased, but the volume is not good, 9P design is reasonable, but customers do not want to adopt.
Due to the poor market conditions, Lin Enping said frankly, this year the overall market competition will be more intense than last year, and the pressure to reduce prices.
