Apple’s official description of this app is as follows:

Leveraging the power and portability of the iPad Pro, combined with the ability of the Apple Pencil to accurately draw ideas, Deep Field experience participants draw animals and plants inspired by artwork and environments, using vivid colors, shapes and textures.

After conceiving fantastic plants, participants use Apple Pencils to draw their designs in the Deep Field App for iPad, and these works will be added to the global database, where the plants drawn by participants around the world will be brought together in real-time to create a new ecosystem that uses the magic of AR to reveal the invisible world of plants.

Using the iPad Pro’s lidar scanner, participants can watch their creations transform into stunning 3D plant structures that spread across the floors, walls and ceilings around them, creating a new immersive natural world.

To enhance the multi-sensory experience, Deep Field also presents the sounds of forgotten and extinct species in a multi-channel soundscape created by renowned audio naturalist Martyn Stewart, offering a new appreciation for the tumultuous beauty of the natural world.
