Apple has tweaked the details of its iPad Pro line since it launched in 2018, but the overall product has not changed. In the latest Power On newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says that Apple is preparing to give the iPad Pro a “major makeover” next year.

In the newsletter, Gurman says that Apple will make very few changes to the iPad line in 2023, and says that there will be “no notable new improvements” to the new iPad Pro this year, nor any “major updates” to the entry-level iPad, iPad mini or iPad Air. “significant updates”.

Gurman said Apple is working on a “major makeover” of the iPad Pro, which is expected to be unveiled at a special spring event in 2024. This “major overhaul” includes, but is not limited to, an upgrade to an OLED panel.

Some of Gurman’s comments in the press release.

"There won't be any major updates to the entry-level iPad, iPad mini, or iPad Air for the 2023 model year. iPad Pro won't get any significant improvements either. But the 2024 iPad Pro will get a major makeover, with a new design and an OLED screen."

Apple is also considering bringing MagSafe charging to the iPad Pro lineup, similar to the MagSafe technology used in the iPhone.
