Apple withdrew the Home app update from iOS 16.2 last December after the new HomeKit architecture became stuck, broke the chain, and many other problems. But the latest iOS 16.3 Beta 2 screenshots show that Apple is back to pushing the new HomeKit architecture.

After users upgraded to iOS 16.3 Beta 2 (internal version number: 20D5035i), the Home app popped up with a “Home Upgrade Available” notification, described as “new underlying architecture that will improve the performance of your home,” which is the same language used in iOS 16.2 when the new Home architecture was first pushed out.

Apple hopes to further test the new Home architecture in Beta, and may make it available to all users again in the official iOS 16.3 release.
