Apple is celebrating Safer Internet Day with a press release in the European market that highlights Screen Time and Communication Safety, among other software features and tools that protect children online. The press release highlights software features and tools that protect children online, such as Screen Time and Communication Safety.

The Communication Safety feature in Messages is designed to scan iMessage images sent and received on children’s devices for nudity and warn them when harmful content is found.

If nudity is detected in a photo received by a child, the photo will be blurred and resources from child safety groups will be made available to the child. Nudity in a photo sent by a child will trigger a warning telling the child not to send the image.

In a press release, Apple said it is working with local experts to expand the feature to more regions around the world. The Communication Safety feature is currently live in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand and will expand to France, Germany, Italy and Spain in the coming months.
