Apple will apparently tweak the features and pricing of four iPhone 15 series models that will hit store shelves this fall. In addition to the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus getting the Lingering Island feature, Apple will introduce some high-end features for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max (or Ultra) for better differentiation.

From information aggregated by MacRumors, a foreign technology media, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max may have the following six exclusive features.

  1. A17 chip

According to a report by Nikkei Asia, the iPhone 15 Pro models will be equipped with an A17 Bionic chip based on TSMC’s second-generation 3nm process for improved performance and efficiency. The report claims that, like last year, only the iPhone 15 Pro models will be equipped with Apple’s latest chip.

  1. Titanium frame

According to analyst Jeff Pu and leaker “ShrimpApplePro,” like the Apple Watch Ultra, the iPhone 15 Pro model will have a titanium frame instead of stainless steel.

  1. Adopt a USB-C port

According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 15 Pro models will come with a USB-C port that supports at least USB 3.2 or Thunderbolt, which will make data transfer speeds significantly faster on these devices. Mr. Kuo said the USB-C port on the standard iPhone 15 models will still be limited to USB 2.0 speeds. 4.

  1. Increased memory

According to research firm TrendForce, the iPhone 15 Pro models will come with an increased 8GB of RAM, while the standard models will likely continue to come with 6GB of RAM as they currently do. The extra RAM will allow apps like Safari to keep more content active in the background, thus preventing apps from reloading content when they are reopened.

  1. Solid-state buttons

Ming-Chi Kuo says the iPhone 15 Pro models will come with solid-state volume and power buttons. Analysts say the devices will come with two additional Taptic Engines that provide haptic feedback to simulate the feeling of pressing a button without actually moving it, similar to the Home button on the latest iPhone SE or the trackpad on the new MacBook.

  1. Optical zoom

Ming-Chi Kuo says the iPhone 15 Pro Max will come with a periscopic telephoto lens. This could give the device at least a 6x optical zoom, compared to 3x on the iPhone 14 Pro model.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has suggested that the iPhone 15 Pro Max could be renamed the iPhone 15 Ultra, just like the Apple Watch Ultra.
