Apple iPhone 15 Pro completely eliminates physical buttons: new dual motor simulation press feedback

On Oct. 28, Apple’s god of news, Ming-Chi Kuo, once again made a prediction about the iPhone 15, saying that the Pro version will completely eliminate physical buttons.

He said that next year’s high-end version of the iPhone 15 power button and volume keys may use the “solid-state key” design, which is similar to the pressure-sensitive home button on the iPhone 7/8/SE2 and other models.

This button recognizes the pressure on a given area and mobilizes the Taptic Engine linear motor to simulate the feedback of a physical button.

The technology debuted on the iPhone 7, and some users didn’t even notice that the button was unpressable after using it for a long time.

Ming-Chi Kuo said that in order to better simulate the feedback of the volume and power buttons, the iPhone 15 Pro will add two Taptic Engine motors on the left and right sides of the body, bringing the total to three.

If true, the iPhone is a big step towards a completely hole-free phone, and the next biggest obstacle is the charging port.

However, it will take a long time for the iPhone to achieve a completely hole-free, and next year it will be changed to a USB Type-C interface as a transition.
