Apple iPhone 14 Pro users occur problems with CarPlay: another party has difficulty hearing

0

After Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max went on sale last week, some users with the new devices reported that they were experiencing an issue with CarPlay, where the other party had difficulty hearing their voice during phone calls initiated in the car.

Affected users have reported the issue online over the past three to four days, with most users reporting that after calling someone on their iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 14 Pro Max via CarPlay, the person said their voice sounded small or felt far away.

Most of the feedback came from users of the iPhone 14 Pro or Pro Max running iOS 16.0.1, but at least one user reported that the issue seems to affect the standard iPhone 14 as well, and others reported that the problem persisted even after downgrading to iOS 16.0.

MacRumors has reproduced the issue by calling in a 2022 Honda Civic with an iPhone 14 Pro running iOS 16.0.1 via wired CarPlay. The issue did not occur when using the same phone in the car for a regular hands-free Bluetooth call.

It’s unclear what the cause of the issue is or how many users are affected, but it appears to be another bug in the new iPhone 14 series. Apple has plans to release an iOS 16 update next week that will fix issues like the rear camera vibrating in certain apps on iPhone 14 Pro models, so I wonder if this issue will be fixed together by then. I don’t know if this will be fixed as well.
