Apple iPhone 14 / Max will be equipped with enhanced version of A15 Bionic chip

With less than 2 days until the official launch of the iPhone 14 product line, Tim Higgins of the Wall Street Times is reporting that the standard iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max models will come with an “enhanced” version of the A15 Bionic chip.

While no additional details are mentioned in the report, it is speculated that the two standard iPhone 14 models will be equipped with the iPhone 13 Pro’s high-end A15 chip, but with five GPU cores and 25 percent more graphics performance. The standard iPhone 13 model has four GPUs.

In addition to the GPU improvements, the A15 Bionic on the two standard iPhone 14 models should have the same specifications as its predecessor, with the same 6-core CPU and 16-core Neural Engine.

According to information shared by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo in March, the report said that only the iPhone 14 Pro model will be upgraded to Apple’s latest A16 chip for faster CPU performance. This would mark the first time Apple has limited its latest chip to Pro models as part of an annual refresh of its flagship iPhone line, resulting in a greater difference between the standard and Pro models.
