The iPadOS 17 system was released at the WWDC23 conference in June, and the latest news says that the system will bring more lock screen customization features to iPad users. These features have been provided to iPhone users in the iOS 16 system released in September last year, but iPad users have not been able to enjoy them.

According to Twitter user @analyst941, iPadOS 17 will include the following lock screen customization options:

 lock screen widget

 Preset wallpaper templates

Color adjustments, filters, and Picture Styles

 wallpaper depth effect

 Clock style customization

 Wallpapers based on focus mode

There is also news that iOS 17 will bring new lock screen font size options to the iPhone, as well as a button to share custom lock screen designs with other iPhone users. @analyst941 said that iPadOS 17 will also have iOS 17’s new “optimized” lock screen customization feature, which may refer to the above feature.

It is noticed that @analyst941 had previously accurately predicted the Smart Island function of the iPhone 14 Pro, so its revelations have a certain degree of credibility. However, he also said that the iPhone 15 Pro will use new solid-state buttons, and later changed his words to say that the feature will be postponed to next year’s Pro models.

Whether iPadOS 17 will really bring these lock screen customization features, we still have to wait until the WWDC23 conference to reveal the answer. According to previous news, the system may drop support for the first-generation 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro and the fifth-generation iPad.
