According to local Indian media Business Today reports, Apple’s Indian region executives have met with the local Ministry of Finance to discuss matters related to expanding iPhone production capacity in India.
Sources said the discussion involves a wide range, the Indian government hopes to take the lead with Apple, to further promote the local smartphone manufacturing industry, and consult the relevant support policies.
Apple also said in the exchange, India is a very important production place and consumer market, happy to expand production capacity in the Indian market, but hope to get more subsidies and policy benefits.
It was previously reported, according to market research organization Counterpoint Research published statistics, in the 2nd quarter of 2023, the Indian market revenue performance for the first time exceeded France and Germany, becoming Apple’s fifth largest iPhone market.
