Apple has increased its investment in sports events and has already purchased the rights to stream many sports events, including MLB Friday Night Baseball and MLS Season Pass.

In February, news broke that Apple was “interested” in buying NBA streaming rights. But according to a new report from foreign tech media outlet The Information, Apple has not yet decided whether to participate in the bidding, even though the NBA has been selling the rights to several streaming platforms.

The report that the NBA plans to sell streaming rights, including exclusive streaming rights in the United States and rights to two U.S. TV channels, in the hope of increasing revenue more than threefold.

The NBA currently works primarily with ESPN and Warner Bros. Discovery for its U.S. TV channels, but both of those companies are looking to reduce spending and have suggested cutting sports spending as a way to do so.

Amazon and Google have expressed interest in bidding for the NBA’s streaming rights, and reports indicate that Apple has not yet made a decision on whether it will bid for NBA broadcast rights.
