According to the latest research report released by market research agency Counterpoint Research, Apple continues to lead the global smartphone revenue and operating profit, breaking records with 45% and 85% respectively in the second quarter of this year.
The report pointed out that in the second quarter of 2023, the global smartphone market revenue will be less than US$90 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 8% and a quarter-on-quarter decrease of 15%; operating profit will decrease by 3% year-on-year and a quarter-on-quarter decrease of 27%
Senior analyst Harmeet Singh Walia said Apple’s shipments fell 3 percent against the backdrop of a 9 percent decline in global smartphone shipments.
Apple benefited from an increase in the contribution of the Pro model and a decrease in the contribution of the SE model, thereby increasing the average selling price of the iPhone models.
Although Apple iPhone’s revenue in the second quarter of 2023 fell by 2% year-on-year, it accounted for 45% of the global mobile phone market, an increase of 3 percentage points compared to the same period last year, creating a new high.
Apple’s iPhone accounted for 85% of operating profit in the second quarter of 2023, an increase of 4 percentage points compared to the same period last year, which also set a new record.
