Apple canceled its plan to increase production due to low demand for iPhone 14

The last two days have seen a lot of buzz about Apple abandoning its plans to increase production of the iPhone 14. The news said that Apple had urgently canceled its plan to increase production due to a decline in demand, and the overall order quantity was adjusted downwards. This also triggered a shock in the market, and even Apple’s share price plunged for a time, losing up to $100 billion in market value.

According to the latest report by Punch News, a supply chain-related source revealed that in fact the supply chain manufacturers did not receive notice of Apple’s order adjustment for the iPhone 14 series, and the total number of orders has remained the same.

The above-mentioned person said that the iPhone 14 series gave orders for 95 million units, compared to 85 million for the iPhone 13 series last year, which is already quite a high expectation.

He mentioned: “iPhone 14 series regular version after the launch of short-term demand is not so good, Pro series is better, total orders remain the same with some distribution adjustment, Pro’s volume is a little more, but the total number of orders has remained unchanged. There is also no so-called plan to increase production and now cut orders.”

In other words, the iPhone 14 series orders did change, but there were only some internal allocation adjustments, and the Pro version absorbed some of the standard version orders because it was hotter, which should actually bring higher profits for Apple.

However, it should be noted that this is not yet enough to judge the failure of the iPhone 14 Standard Edition.

The series is now mainly facing the problem of overpricing. It is expected that after the iPhone 14 Plus goes on sale, and when the Double 11 e-commerce sale comes, the main consumer all will pull a wave of sales surge, which may still take over the e-commerce platform sales chart then.
