Mark Gurman of Bloomberg said that Apple plans to introduce several new health-related features for iPhone/iPad users in the iOS/iPadOS 17 system. One of the most noteworthy is a new app that tracks users’ emotions.

Based on the content of the report as follows:

Health app adds control of myopia and other vision conditions

  • Apple plans to further enhance the Health app to introduce features related to vision conditions. The AR/VR headset Apple is developing will include health-focused features, such as a meditation app that guides users through calming meditations.

Bringing the Health app to iPad

  • Apple has launched the Health app for iPhone users, and it will be coming to iPad in the upcoming iOS/iPadOS 17 update.
  • Thanks to the iPad’s larger screen, users can easily view health indicators, EKG results, prescriptions, doctor’s lab tests, and more. Apple’s goal is to further popularize the Health app in the healthcare environment.

Introducing a new mood tracker

  • Using the app, users can track their moods, answer related questions, and view emotional results over time.
  • In the future, algorithms could be used to determine a user’s mood from their speech patterns, what they type, and other data.

Successor codenamed Quartz

  • Apple plans to introduce a product called Quartz next year, an artificial intelligence-based service that will help encourage users to exercise, improve their eating habits and take steps to improve their sleep.
  • The service will use data from the Apple Watch to provide personalized advice and create tailored coaching plans, for which Apple plans to charge a monthly fee.

Gurman said that Apple will launch it in 2024, but did not rule out the possibility of “cancellation or delay”.
