Apple A16 SoC brings noticeable improvement over its predecessor; tells AnTuTu benchmark

An early test report of the new Apple A16 chipset has started surfacing online. The test reports give us an early glimpse at the performance of the chipset and the chipset surprisingly brings a noticeable improvement in the performance as compared to the predecessor Apple A15. The results which are hovering online are reportedly taken from the Apple iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max smartphones.

Apple A16 brings an impressive +28% improvement in GPU score 

According to the latest AnTuTu score released for the Apple iPhone 14 Pro, the device has managed to score a total of 978,147 and the top of the line iPhone 14 Pro Max has managed to score 972,936. The scores may also be got impacted because of the upgraded 6GB RAM capacity.

Looking at the reports, the CPU performance increased by a respectable 17%, while the memory score increased by 10%. It’s the GPU that really stands out, with a 28% improvement over the previous generation. We’re surprised Apple didn’t mention it during the presentation; this could be the most significant generational improvement in recent years.

In comparison, early AnTuTu results for the iPhone 13 Pros last year showed a 17% increase in CPU score and a 19% increase in GPU score over the 12 Pro generation. Last year, the memory score wowed with a 44% increase. The iPhone 14 Pro pair tested had 1TB of storage, giving it a slight advantage over models with smaller capacities.
