The current Android system has a seamless experience when sharing screenshots of web pages, but the URL needs to be copied and shared separately. It is reported that the future Android 14 will combine screenshots and URLs into one item, which is convenient for users to share.
Android expert Mishaal Rahman revealed on his Patreon account that Google is working on a feature that will automatically attach a link to a web page when sharing a screenshot of it.
Rahman also showed a video showing the URL being automatically added to the screenshot’s share menu (see screenshot at the top of this post). Rahman explained, “This feature uses the same API as the URL sharing feature on Pixel and Asus phones, which means it’s compatible with apps like Chrome and YouTube.” Get and share links to web pages in the recent apps menu.
It is unclear whether this feature will be available in the Android 14 core version, or in a later version such as Android 14 QPR1.
