Android 14 Beta 3 push with final API

Google released the first Beta version of Android 14 in May 2023, and today launched the third beta version, including 7a in a number of Pixel phones can download the update.

This release fixes some system issues and adds some new accessibility features such as non-linear font scaling, privacy upgrades (including partial photo/video access), new animation support in gesture navigation, and further alignment with the OpenJDK 17 LTS release.

Android 14 Beta 3 also brings milestones in platform stability, with APIs (level 34) and system behavior already established. Google encourages developers to begin “final testing and development work to ensure your app is compatible with users’ devices when it is finally released to the ecosystem.”

Android 14 Beta 3 (UPB3.230519.008) comes with a May 2023 security patch for Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 7a, as well as Android emulator. Android 14 is expected to be available to Pixel phone owners later this year. At least three more Beta updates will be released at that time.
