Android 13 QPR1 Beta 3.1 released, Google Pixel 4a and above devices can be updated

Google today released the Android 13 QPR1 Beta 3.1 update (T1B3.221003.008), which includes the November security patch for Pixel 4a/5/5a/6/6 Pro/6a/7/7 Pro and other devices.

As usual, the Android 13 QPR Beta brings several bug fixes.

  • Fixed a platform issue that caused the app to crash when using MediaSession to process input from the hardware media playback button.
  • Fixed an issue where the device’s GPU driver would sometimes cause the system UI to freeze during normal device use.
  • Fixes an issue that sometimes caused Pixel phones to display an incorrect “Missed Call” notification instead of “Receiving a call on another device” when the Pixel Watch was answering a call remotely (in unrestricted mode).
  • Fixed an issue that sometimes caused the Google Camera app to crash.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented Google Assistant from being activated by launch commands on some devices.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented action-based gestures (such as “Lift to answer” or “Flip to mute”) from working on some devices.
  • Fixes an issue that sometimes caused artifacts to be displayed when recording or viewing video on some devices.
  • Fixes an issue that sometimes caused the Google Camera app to launch slowly.
  • Fixes an issue that sometimes caused CarrierSettings to crash when inserting a SIM card on Pixel 6a devices.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the “Go to Browser” option in the notification bar from working when using a no-install app.
  • The Android 13 QPR1 Beta update showcases some of the new features in the upcoming Feature Drops for Pixel phones, a quarterly update for Pixel smartphones that brings a host of features to the device. The next update isn’t expected until December.
