AMD’s Ryzen 7000X3D series processors announced for Feb. 28, starting at $449

  • AMD announced that the Ryzen 7000X3D series of desktop processors will be available from February 28, priced from $449.
  • The R9 7950X3D will be available on February 28, 2023, for a suggested retail price of $699 (currently about RMB 4,711).
  • The R9 7900X3D will be available on February 28, 2023, for a suggested retail price of $599 (currently about RMB 4037).

The R9 7950X3D and R9 7900X3D are based on the Socket AM5 architecture, allowing enthusiasts to take advantage of the ultimate gaming performance and creator performance in one processor, AMD said.

Specific performance parameters are as follows.

  • R9 7950X3D: 16 cores, 32 threads, 5.7GHz RWD, 144MB cache, 120W TDP
  • R9 7900X3D: 12 cores, 24 threads, 5.6GHz RWD, 140MB cache, 120W TDP
  • R7 7800X3D: 8 cores, 16 threads, 5.0GHz RWD, 104MB cache, 120W TDP

The AMD R9 7950X3D has the same suggested retail price as the R9 7950X 16-core Zen4 processor, the R9 7900X3D has a $50 higher suggested retail price than the R9 7900X, and the R7 7800X3D has a $20 higher suggested retail price than the R9 7900.

AMD claims in the PPT that the R7 7800X3D can deliver up to a 25% increase in gaming performance in popular eSports games, the possible pricing for the national line.

The AMD product page also shows that the Tjmax (operating temperature) of the Raider 7000X3D CPU has been reduced from 95°C (X-Series) to 89°C. This is also 1°C lower than the previous generation R7 5800X3D CPU.
