AMD Ryzen 7000 mobile processor has a “heterogeneous” version: 2-core Zen4 + 4-core Zen4C

According to “All_The_Watts”, the AMD Zen4 architecture Ryzen 7000 “Phenix Point” series processors may have two versions, one is the conventional iterative version, and the other is the “heterogeneous” version.

According to reports, the “Phenix Point” series has two versions, PHX and PHX2, both of which are TSMC’s N4 process. The former has a maximum of 8-core Zen4 CPU + 12CU RDNA3 core display, 15-35W+ power consumption, and the latter has a maximum of 2 Zen4 + 4 Zen4C CPU, up to 4CU RNDA3 core display, 15-28W power consumption. Previous news said that the 128-core EPYC Bergamo will use Zen4C, a high-density multi-threaded architecture customized by AMD for cloud-native applications. Zen4C may be AMD’s small core.

In terms of naming, the R7 7840U is an 8-core Zen4 + 12CU core display, and the R7 7740U is a 2 Zen4 + 4 Zen4C + 4CU core display.

AMD will hold a CES conference on the 5th of next month, at which time the lineup of the Ryzen 7000 series mobile processors will be announced.
