YouTube host and enthusiast Pieter Plaisier (SkatterBencher) has overclocked his Ryzen 7 7800X3D processor to 5.4 GHz in the latest installment of his video.

The video that the motherboard used for his overclock was the ASUS ROG Crosshair X670E Hero, and he used an external clock generator, turned on the PBO mode in the motherboard BIOS, and used a curve optimizer to make adjustments.

The host uses Precision Boost Overdrive technology to increase the peak power consumption of the processor, using an external clock generator to physically increase the processor’s operating frequency.

The anchor successfully overclocked the Ryzen 7 7800X3D processor to 5.4 GHz, with an official maximum accelerated clock frequency of 5.05 GHz, 7% higher than the standard.
