AMD is going to market in September this year, the sharp dragon 7000 series, which is 5nm Zen4 architecture, upgrade AM5 platform, supports DDR5 and PCIe 5.0, IPC performance increased by 8-10%, single-core performance increased by more than 15%, the desktop version is still up to 16 cores and 32 threads. What about further down the line? The product release and subsequent layout of the Rex 7000 to last more than 1 year, followed by the Zen5 architecture, in yesterday’s earnings meeting, AMD also reconfirmed the Zen5 architecture will be launched in 2024.

This means that the lifespan of the current generation of Zen4 is only about 2 years, and the desktop version of the Rex 8000 will come out in two years.

AMD mentioned that the Zen5 architecture will be built from the ground up to continue to extend performance and energy efficiency leadership for a wider range of workloads, from which we can see that the Zen5 architecture will be a massive improvement, or even push back, with further performance and energy efficiency improvements.

Before this AMD has revealed some Zen5 information, there are Zen5, Zen5 V-Cache, and Zen5c three architecture variants, the initial use of 4nm process, the later will also upgrade the 3nm process, so this generation of architecture will be very complex.
