AMD R9 7940HS mobile processor parameter dropped from 3GHz to 2.8GHz

According to feedback from overseas netizens, the core display frequency of AMD’s 7040HS series processors, which has not yet been listed, has been lowered. The core display frequency of the flagship model R9 7940HS has been reduced from the original 3GHz to 2.8GHz.

AMD’s R9 7940H processor has the same CPU specifications as the R7 7940HS, and the core display frequency has not been lowered, and it is still 3GHz.

AMD released the Ryzen 7040HS series processors at CES. This series of notebook processors uses a 4nm process, uses an 8-core Zen4 CPU and an RDNA3 core display, with a core display specification up to 12CU 3.0GHz, and is equipped with the latest Ryzen AI engine. In terms of memory support, AMD 7040 series notebooks support DDR5-5600 and LPDDR5x-7500.

AMD Ryzen 7040H/ HS series model parameters are as follows:

R9 7940H/HS: 8 cores 16 threads, up to 5.2GHz, 45/35W TDP

R7 7840H / HS: 8 cores 16 threads, up to 5.1GHz, 45/35W TDP

R5 7640H/HS: 6 cores 12 threads, up to 5.0GHz, 45/35W TDP

Notebooks powered by the Ryzen 7040 HS processor will be available in March 2023.
