As promised, AMD has released the latest FSR 2.2 plug-in for the Unreal Engine.

About two weeks ago, AMD released the source code for its FSR 2.2 technology but needed more time to prepare the documentation and test the plug-in. With the newly released FSR 2.2 plug-in for Unreal Engine, game developers can add the latest version of FSR with just a few clicks.

AMD Super Resolution Reveal (FSR)2 technology was released in May 2021, and in September 2022, AMD released an updated version of FSR 2.1 to provide further enhanced image quality improvements for games supported by the technology. Currently, more than half of the games that are FSR 2 capable have FSR 2.1 or higher.

In November 2022, AMD released FSR 2.2, which provides richer image enhancements than FSR 2.1. The first game to feature FSR 2.2, Extreme Racing: Horizons 5, was updated to FSR 2.2 on November 8, 2022.

FSR 2.2 improves ghosting, especially on fast-moving objects. According to AMD, FSR 2.2 also features several improvements and optimizations, with the focus shifting to FSR 3 later this year.

AMD announced that more than 250 games are now confirmed to support FSR 1 or FSR 2. From this number, 110 games support the updated FSR 2.
