AMD Adrenaline WHQL driver 23.5.1 released, fixes DaVinci crash/unresponsiveness issue

AMD pushed out the Adrenaline WHQL driver version 23.5.1 for users, mainly bringing the first support for the game Ragnarok: Gollum and making some important software fixes.

Added support for Ragnarok: Gollum:

  • Play on Radeon RX 7900 series GPUs with up to 16% improvement in 4K performance compared to previous software driver version 23.4.3 RS-577.
  • Play on Radeon RX 6000 series GPUs with up to 12% better 4K performance compared to previous software driver version 23.4.3 RS-578.

Fixes:

  • Application crashes or driver timeouts may be observed during video playback using the video editing software DaVinci Resolve Studio.
  • Transient display corruption may occur when switching between video and game windows on certain AMD graphics products, such as the Radeon RX 6700 XT.
  • Higher than expected memory usage during shader compilation when first launching The Last Survivor Part 1 game.
  • The intermittent system crashes when playing Call of Duty 19: Modern Warfare II on certain AMD graphics products (e.g. Radeon RX 580).

Known issues:

  • High idle power is sometimes observed when using certain high-resolution and high refresh rate displays on Radeon RX 7000 series GPUs.
  • Video stuttering or performance degradation may be observed when using certain extended display configurations for gaming and video playback on Radeon RX 7000 Series GPUs.
  • Certain virtual reality games or applications may perform less well than expected on Radeon RX 7000 Series GPUs.
  • Application crashes may be observed intermittently when running RuneScape on certain AMD graphics products, such as the Radeon RX 5700 XT.
