0

Amazon has begun testing a new Amazon Prime Lite membership level, according to OnlyTech.

According to OnlyTech, Amazon Prime Lite is priced at Rs. 999 per year (currently about RMB 83) in India, while the standard Amazon Prime subscription is Rs. 1,499 per year.

In terms of streaming, Amazon Prime Lite will provide subscribers with all the content of a standard Prime membership, but the resolution is limited to HD and the highest resolution (4K) video streams are not available. In addition, Prime Lite limits users to a maximum of two simultaneous logins to one account, and one of them must be a mobile device.

It’s worth noting that Amazon has launched a mobile-only streaming plan in India for just Rs. 599 (currently about RMB. 49) per year.

Other than that, Amazon Prime Lite subscribers don’t have access to other benefits, whether it’s Prime Music, Prime Games, eBooks, or free EMIs that are only available to standard Amazon Prime members.

At this point, Amazon has yet to provide an official statement on the Beta trial of Prime Lite, when the company will launch the beta program or when Amazon is planning to officially launch it, but we expect more details to emerge in the coming days.
