As the legendary fall release date draws near, the news about AM5 motherboards is becoming more and more intense. Take ASRock X670E Pro ES for example, although not much has changed since Computex 2022, additional photos of the board and the style of the backplane I/O has been released recently on the official website.

The photos on display already show us the M.2 WiFi slot populated by a wireless network adapter, as well as a “Blazing M.2” straight through to the CPU and three PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots.

Two of the M.2 bits are equipped with heatsinks, but the last one is likely to be limited to PCIe 3.0. The motherboard also has a full-length PCIe 5.0 x16 slot (after all, it is the X670E flagship AM5 chipset).

The onboard network card is a 2.5 GBE Ethernet controller from the Realtek / Dragon brand (with game optimization software).

However, the audio jack based on the ALC897 onboard sound card has been streamlined to only line out + microphone in + S/PDIF optical connection terminals.

Other backplane I/O are DisplayPort + HDMI video out, a UEFI / BIOS update button, 4 x USB 2.0 + 5 x USB 3 (five 3.2 @ 5 Gbps + one 10 Gbps).

Finally, the motherboard provides an internal USB-C connector and two PCIe x1 slots of unknown rate, as well as six SATA and two USB 3.x connectors.
