AKC’s rear-wheel steering system is out of stock globally, production and delivery of IM L7 is affected

As the first flagship model of IM, IM L7 started nationwide delivery in mid-June. Liu Tao, co-CEO of IM Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. recently stated on social media that the global shortage of AKC rear-wheel steering systems has indeed affected the current production and delivery progress of IM L7.

Liu Tao pointed out that it is working with suppliers to coordinate resources and solve supply difficulties. At the same time, Liu Tao admitted that the AKC rear-wheel steering has been out of stock for more than 2 months, and the IM L7 does not plan to launch a version without AKC, saying that “AKC must be standard for luxury smart electric vehicles.”

When talking about the reasons, Liu Tao said that a smart electric car must first be a solid and safe car. In the era of gasoline cars, taking Lamborghini as an example, it has large power and fast speed. When the yaw angle is too large when changing lanes at high speed, it is easy to overturn or lose stability. Four-wheel steering is required to suppress the yaw of the whole vehicle. Later, it was also used by Mercedes-Benz, 7 System continues to use. “In the current era of electric vehicles, electric vehicles have fast acceleration, high torque, and 20,000 RPM motors. Four-wheel steering is undoubtedly the ultimate technical solution for driving electric vehicles better and safer.”

The data shows that IM L7 was delivered on June 18, and a total of 1,051 units were delivered by July 31; in August, the monthly sales of IM L7 reached 1,007 units, a month-on-month increase of 23.4%; in September, IM L7 delivered 1,019 units, with a cumulative delivery 3077 units.
