According to Reuters, the Swedish Transport Agency said on Friday that it was investigating Tesla’s suspension failure, and the content of the investigation was similar to that conducted by the Norwegian traffic safety regulator.

“We can… confirm that we are also conducting an investigation,” the Swedish Transport Agency said in an emailed statement.

Asked about the Norwegian investigation, the Swedish agency said it had also received “many notifications of similar problems with Tesla-branded vehicles.”

The Finnish Transport and Communications Agency said it had not yet contacted the Swedish Transport Agency about the suspension failure.

It was previously reported that the Norwegian traffic safety regulator is investigating a suspension failure of Tesla electric vehicles, which may lead to a vehicle recall.

Tor-Ove Satren, a senior engineer at the Norwegian Public Roads Administration (NPRA), said the agency began questioning Tesla in September 2022, asking it to evaluate consumer complaints about broken rear lower control arms in Model S and Model X vehicles.

If it is determined that the vehicles pose a “serious risk,” Tesla may be recommended to recall the vehicles and replace parts. However, if there are no safety concerns, the review may be closed or a decision may be made to expand the investigation.
