Acer unveils the Swift Edge, world’s lightest 16-inch OLED laptop

Acer officially launched what it called “the world’s lightest 16-inch OLED notebook” Swift Edge, called the legendary Edge, priced at 6,999 yuan, actually opened for sale on October 1.

It is described as a model “designed for hybrid work at home/on the go” to maximize productivity needs, claiming “the perfect balance of performance, security and durability”.

Acer Swift Edge (SFA16-41) features a 4K OLED display with 100% DCI-P3 color gamut support, up to 500 nits brightness, 90Hz refresh rate, and 0.2ms response time for theater-quality visuals, Acer says.

This model features a narrow bezel design with a 92% screen-to-body ratio, and is VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 and TÜV Rheinland Eyesafe certified.

The laptop has a built-in Microsoft Pluton security processor with AMD Raidon processors, available in Raidon PRO 6000 series and regular Raidon 6000 series processors, to defend against increasingly sophisticated security attacks.

Weighing just 1.17 kg and measuring just 12.95mm thick, the laptop is described as being easy to carry and durable with its ultra-thin magnesium-aluminum body. For comparison, Acer says the Vivobook S 16X OLED with the same screen size is 0.7kg lighter.

In other respects, Swift Edge has added a biometric function and Noble Wedge computer anti-theft lock slot, upgraded Wi-Fi 6E, equipped with 2 USB 3.2 Type-C ports with fast charging function, two USB Type-A ports, There is an HDMI 2.1 port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Acer Swift Edge will be available in some regions this month, starting at US$1,500 (about 10,635 yuan) in North America, and starting at 7,999 yuan (about 10,635 yuan) in China. unconfirmed.
