A new progress in the airworthiness certification of an autopilot aircraft in Shanghai, which can carry 4 people

According to the official public number of Fengfei Aviation news, the leadership of the East China Civil Aviation Administration and the relevant responsible person of the Airworthiness Certification Office visited the test base of Fengfei Aviation Technology today, and signed a “Memorandum of Understanding on the safety cooperation of electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL)” together with Fengfei.

The leaders of East China Bureau watched the demonstration flight of Fengfei’s autopilot eVTOL aircraft, Shengshi Long, and visited and investigated Fengfei’s design and manufacturing base. The leaders of the East China Bureau said that the signing of this MOU marks an important new progress in the airworthiness certification and qualification of eVTOL models.

Wu Haiying, COO of Fengfei Aviation Technology, said that the signing of the MOU has boosted Fengfei’s confidence to carry out airworthiness certification, and that in the future, Fengfei will create safe, efficient and convenient autopilot aircraft to unlock air traffic.

According to Fengfei Aviation Technology, its first manned aircraft, the V1500M Centurion, has a maximum takeoff weight of 1,500 kg and can carry four people. With a cruising speed of 200 km/h and a maximum range of 250 km on pure electricity, the aircraft can be used for intra-city, airport-urban, inter-city or traffic-constrained travel. It can be used for intra-city, airport-intra-city, inter-city or low-traffic areas.

The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) issued the Special Conditions for EH216-S Unmanned Aerial Vehicle System on February 22 this year, which is the world’s first special conditions for the type-qualified certification program for unmanned aerial vehicle systems, providing the basis for the compliance and safety of the EH216-S model, and means that EH216-S has entered the final stage of airworthiness certification.
