Toyota Motor announced today that it has started selling the new Prius series of hybrid vehicles (HEV), and will launch a plug-in hybrid model (PHEV) around March this year.

It is reported that the 2023 Toyota Prius HEV is priced at 2.75 million yen (about 141,000 yuan) to 3.92 million yen (about 201,000 RMB) in Japan, with a system with a maximum power of 196 horsepower and a four-wheel drive equipped with E-Four version models.

In addition, Toyota and KINTO also announced the new “KINTO Unlimited” car subscription service that will be offered. Prices for the Prius offered through the KINTO Unlimited service range from 2.99 million to 3.21 million yen.

As the fifth-generation Prius model, the new car is based on the Toyota TNGA-C architecture and adopts the latest design language of the Toyota family. For example, the iconic “C”-shaped light group on the front face is highly recognizable. The side of the body has smooth lines, the length, width and height are 4600/1780/1420 mm respectively, and 17-inch and 19-inch rims are optional.

The rear of the car retains the classic style of the Prius and adopts a hatchback design, with a new through-type taillight group. The plug-in hybrid version also adds a charging port on the right rear fender, and an optional solar roof.

In terms of interior, the new car is equipped with a high-position full LCD instrument panel and a multi-function steering wheel, and adopts a floating central control large screen, and some physical buttons are equipped under the central console.

In terms of power, the new car will still provide hybrid and plug-in hybrid models. Among them, the plug-in hybrid model uses a combination of 2.0L engine and electric motor, with a total system output of 223 horsepower, an acceleration time of 6.7 seconds from 0-100km/h, and a battery capacity of 13.6kWh, which can provide more than 94 kilometers of pure electric range.
