56%! Higher Run scores show Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra’s graphics performance

According to a report by Notebookcheck, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is 56% faster than the Galaxy 22 Ultra in terms of graphics performance. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip with TSMC’s Adreno 740, and the graphics performance has been significantly improved from the Vulkan scores on GeekBench.

The Adreno 740 has 5 Vulkan graphics scores on Geekbench, with the latest score of 10,744. The average score for the Adreno 740 is 9844, or 9802 if the highest and lowest scores are removed.

For comparison, the average Vulkan score for the Adreno 730 on GeekBench is 6233. It should be noted that this includes the average score of all phones using Adreno 730, including the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. The average Vulkan score for the Galaxy S22 Ultra is 6276 when calculated separately.

Of particular note is the average Vulkan score of 8418 for the Xclipse 920, developed in conjunction with AMD, on the Samsung Exynos 2200 chipset.

At 9844 points, the Adreno 740 is a 57.93% improvement in graphics over its predecessor (at 6233 points), which is a 56.85% improvement if you look at the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s 6276 points.

Tip: Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and its Adreno 740 GPU are manufactured by TSMC (4 nm N4), while Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 with Adreno 730 is manufactured by Samsung (4 nm 4LPE).
