22.5% of Internet users worldwide own a smartwatch, report says

Based on the survey data provided by DataReportal, the Watch Face team estimated that more than 1.2 billion people worldwide own at least one smart watch, accounting for more than 22.5% of global Internet users, a year-on-year increase of 9%.

By country and region, the United Arab Emirates ranks highest, with more than a third (33.4%) of internet users (approximately 3.1 million people) owning a smartwatch device.

The Czech Republic ranks second with 31.6% of internet users (about 3 million people) owning a smartwatch, followed by Hong Kong with 30.6% and an estimated 2.1 million smartwatch users.

India comes in fourth with an adoption rate of 29.1% and an estimated 201.4 million users owning a smartwatch; Poland ranks fifth with an adoption rate of 28.8% and an estimated 10.6 million people owning a smartwatch.

The survey also revealed that Internet users aged 25 to 34 are most likely to wear smartwatches, with 27.2% of women and 26.9% of men owning a smartwatch.

The 55 to 64 age group has the lowest ownership, though 12.7 percent of women and 16.1 percent of men still own a smartwatch.
