Recently, at the 2024 Tokyo Tuning Show, the Honda Civic RS prototype made its debut. This car is a sports version of Honda Civic, positioned between the regular Civic and Civic TYPE R. The car is expected to be equipped with a 1.5T four-cylinder engine with a maximum power of 202 horsepower, and the transmission system is matched with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The car will be launched in Japan in the fall of 2024, and it is currently unclear whether it will be introduced domestically.
From the appearance, the new car adopts a dark-style RS sports package, equipped with a blackened honeycomb air intake grille, and a red RS logo on the right side of the grille. The shape of the headlights remains the same as that of the ordinary Civic. The lower surround is equipped with a large blackened air inlet, which is matched with the shape of the air guide grooves on both sides to further reflect the sporty attributes.
Looking from the side of the body, the car adopts a coupe-style fastback shape and is equipped with 18-inch blackened wheels. Looking at the rear of the car, the car uses dual exhaust pipes, combined with a slightly upturned duck tail shape and a rear diffuser, to further reflect the sporty style. In addition, the rear of the car is also equipped with an RS logo, and the shape of the taillights is consistent with that of the regular Civic.
In terms of power, the car is expected to be equipped with a 1.5T four-cylinder engine with a maximum power of 202 horsepower and a maximum torque of 260N·m, which is consistent with the Civic Si sold in the United States. The transmission system is matched with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
