2023 Tesla Model 3 car exposure, range and 2022 models remain basically the same

0

Model 3 has appeared on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) official website, range display and 2022 models remain basically the same.

This model is divided into three main versions in the United States:

  • Standard range rear-wheel drive (RWD) version with 438 km on 18-inch wheels and 430 km on 19-inch wheels.
  • All-Wheel Drive Long Range (AWD) 576 km on 18-inch wheels and 537 km on 19-inch wheels.
  • The Performance version comes standard with 20-inch wheels and has a range of 507 km.

The AWD Long Range version appears on the EPA’s official website, it can’t actually be ordered on Tesla’s website, though it may be included in existing inventory. Tesla says the Long Range AWD version is expected to be “available in 2023” (orders have been discontinued for 2022 due to high demand at that time).

Notably, the Model 3 RWD version is the only rear-wheel drive version, and the only one with lithium iron phosphate batteries (CATL square cells).

It is reported that the 2023 Tesla Model 3 starts at $42,990 (currently about RMB 296,000), and starting April 1, the Tesla Model 3 RWD will be disqualified from receiving all federal tax credits because its LFP battery is imported from CATL, not locally produced, so its competitiveness will be greatly reduced.
