In the first half of this year, China’s total import and export value of trade in goods was 19.8 trillion yuan, up 9.4% year-on-year. Among them, the total value of imports of 8.66 trillion yuan, an increase of 4.8%. This means that integrated circuits accounted for about 15.6% of the total value of China’s imports in the first half of the year. In addition, in the first half of 2022, China exported 141 billion ICs, down 6.8% year-on-year; the total export value was 499.3 billion RMB, up 16.4% year-on-year. Whether importing or exporting, ICs show a trend of decreasing quantity but increasing price, which means the unit price of ICs has increased significantly.

The National Bureau of Statistics released data on the operation of industries above the scale in June 2022 showed that in the first half of this year, China’s integrated circuit production totaled 166.1 billion pieces, down 6.3% year-on-year. It is worth mentioning that this is the first time since 2009 that the year-on-year growth rate turned negative.
