ZTE Axon 40 Ultra to feature three 64MP camreas

It was only yesterday, that ZTE President for the mobile division, Ni Fei, officially confirmed the launch of the much anticipated Axon 40 series. The company is all set to unveil it on May 9th in China. But the surprises for Axon fans don’t end here. Earlier today, ZTE officially confirmed the camera specs for the upcoming Axon 40 Ultra via a post on Weibo. 

ZTE Axon 40 Ultra camera details

Early this morning, ZTE confirmed the camera setup via a post on Weibo for the upcoming Axon 40 Ultra. The company revealed that the Axon 40 Ultra will feature a 64MP main camera, a 64MP ultrawide camera, and a 64MP periscope zoom lens.

Chinese tipster WHY LAB has shared some more information on the camera specs of the Axon 40 Ultra. According to the tipster, the camera setup of the Axon 40 Ultra comprises an OIS-enabled 64MP Sony IMX787 main camera, alongside the 64MP Sony IMX787 ultrawide camera, and finally, a 64MP OmniVision OV64B periscope telephoto lens with OIS support.

The device is also speculated to come with a 44MP under-display selfie camera. But there hasn’t been any official confirmation yet.  

ZTE Axon 40 Ultra specifications (rumored)

There hasn’t been any official confirmation regarding the rest of the specs for the upcoming Axon series phones. But there were a few leaks and rumors that provided a clearer picture. 

According to the leaks, Axon 40 Ultra will have a 6.67-inch OLED display with a pixel density of 400ppi. The display will support Full HD+ resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. 

Leaks also state that the Axon 40 Ultra will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC chip from Qualcomm. The chip clocks out at 3.2 GHz, and customers will have different memory variants to choose from. 

The device will also carry an under-display fingerprint sensor to enhance security and a whopping 5,000 mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging. Lastly, the Axon 40 Ultra will come with the latest Android 12, out of the box.
